The Spanish Agency of International Development Cooperation (AECID) will fund a project on coping with climate change in Thai Nguyen and Quang Ninh provinces from 2011 to 2014.
The project will cost 650,000 euro, including 500,000 euro from the Spanish Government. It aims to ensure environmental management and sustainable welfare, to facilitate the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) action plan for coping with climate change.
The project will be implemented in Thai Nguyen and Quang Ninh provinces and include identifying the impact of climate change and strengthening the management of natural resources to cope with the situation. It will also develop action plans and climate change scenarios along with socio-economic development strategies and encourage the public, especially women, children, and poor people, to join in the activities.
