Foreign journalists who wish to visit Vietnam on short term assignment should send either to the Press & Information Department of Vietnam Foreign Ministry or to the Vietnamese Diplomatic Mission abroad an application letter in which their purpose of visit, duration of stay, specific programs, name of agency and personal information such as full name, nationality, passport number, date of birth and place of visa pick up must be clearly stated for consideration.

When journalists are given approval by the Press & Information Department, a PRESS VISA will be issued accordingly at the Vietnamese Diplomatic Mission abroad where journalists request to pick up at their convenience.

During their stay in Vietnam, visiting foreign journalists should follow the purpose and approved programs and be under guidance of an authorized office. Any changes must be informed to that office for consideration. Journalists will cover all expenses relating to the realization of their programs in Vietnam.

When journalists travelling to localities, it is normal that they may be accompanied by local foreign affairs officials.
