VN hopes for peaceful solutions to Preah Vihear dispute |

VGP – Việt Nam hopes that
Thailand and Cambodia would address the dispute over the Preah Vihear
Temple via peaceful solutions and dialogues in line with international
laws and the reached agreements between the two countries, said Foreign
Ministry’s Spokesperson Nguyễn Phương Nga.
The Spokesperson made the statement on August 17 in Hà Nội when she fielded questions from reporters about Việt Nam’s response to a proposal that ASEAN would play an intermediary role in settling the regional dispute over the Preah Vihear Temple.
The Vietnamese Spokesperson also hoped that both sides would avoid any armed conflict which can damage the unity of ASEAN.
As the Chair of ASEAN in 2010, Việt Nam has taken positive steps to consult about the matter with other ASEAN member states for the aforesaid proposal, said Ms. Nga./.
