The Vietnamese Embassy in
Norway will be officially inaugurated during an official visit by Deputy Prime
Minister Hoang Trung Hai from June 12-16, raising the total number of Vietnam’s
representative agencies in foreign countries to 86.

Ministry’s spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga said at a regular press conference on
June 10 that Deputy PM Hai is scheduled to hold a number of talks and meetings
with high-ranking Norwegian officials and attend a round-table conference
focusing on cooperation in economics, trade and investment between the two
countries. He will also visit the European Commission in Belgium , she
said.
Nga announced that Hanoi
will host a series of meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN) from July 15-23, including the 43rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM-43),
ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference (PMC), the 17 th ASEAN Regional Forum
(ARF-17) and ASEAN Seniors’ Meeting (SOM).
High on agenda at the meetings will be how to promote the implementation of the
ASEAN Charter, build up the ASEAN community and increase cooperation in
politics, security as well as the relations between the bloc and its partners,
she said.
The East-West Economic Corridor Forum will be held in the central province of Quang Tri on June 26 to highlight the
significant role and position of the economic corridor to the development of
the region as well as provinces along the corridor, the spokesperson stated.
Representatives from Vietnam
, Laos and Thailand , the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan ’s
International Cooperation Agency (JICA) along with domestic and foreign
universities, research institutes and businesses will attend the event, she said.
