Wednesday, 09 June 2010
The largest ever
Vietnam Summer Camp will take place in 10 cities and provinces nationwide from
July 15 to August 3, attracting 150 students and young Vietnamese from abroad.
As usual, the young overseas Vietnamese return to the homeland every summer
to enjoy the Vietnam Summer Camp, organised by the Committee for Overseas
Vietnamese Affairs (COVA).
They all have made positive contributions to the development of youth
movements, and know enough Vietnamese to be able to communicate with native
Vietnamese during their long journey.
This year the youngsters will travel from Nghe An City and make its way
through the northern, central and southern regions. Tuyen Quang will be their
final destination.
They will take part in a wide range of meaningful activities, such as
holding a requiem in Tay Ninh, an incense-offering ceremony at the Truong Son
cemetery, visiting the Hung Kings Temple complex, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum,
meeting native Vietnamese youngsters in Da Nang, Nghe An, Tuyen Quang and
taking part in a live broadcast from Vientiane, Hanoi and Paris on the 1,000th
anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
They will also have the opportunity to visit historical sites and go
sightseeing.
