100 pupils in Bac Giang province received Canon scholarship “For the bright future” PDF Print E-mail

Based on the Memorandum of Understanding in 2007 between the Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. (CVN) and Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, on May 28, 100 pupils from Luc Ngan 4 high school, Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province received Canon scholarship “For the bright future”, each value 1.5 million VND.

Canon scholarship “For a bright future” is designed for pupils living in poverty but having good results in studying. By getting scholarship, pupils can concentrate on studying and making motivation to get better studying results, thus contributing to the industrialization and modernization process of Vietnam.

In this first Handover ceremony, 100 pupils from 11th and 12th grades of next year, and 50 pupils who have just finished grade 9 and getting best results in examination to enter to grade 10 will receive scholarships.

Mr. Sachio Kageyama – General Director of CVN said: “Canon Vietnam hope these scholarship will help poor pupils to overcome difficulty in their daily life, as well as encourage them to continue making efforts in studying. In order to deeply integrate into global economy in general and ASEAN region in particular, Vietnam needs a huge labor force with hi-tech skills, meeting the requirement of the development”.

Luc Ngan 4 high school is the first school which Canon Vietnam has selected to kick off Canon scholarship “For a bright future” project. This year, the Company will present scholarships to all three grades 10,11,12 for 3 high schools (including Luc Ngan 4 high school). So, there are 450 children will receive Canon scholarships in 2010-2011 school year.

Pupil Truong Thi Hoa from 11A1 class, shared her feeling and impression: “Thanked Canon Vietnam’s support, Canon scholarship will help us to reduce the difficulty in life and have more opportunity in studying. We promise to use scholarship effectively and try our best to meet your expectation from CVN, school, teachers and families”.

On this occasion, CVN also presented some office machines like printer, scanner, camera... to improve studying and teaching conditions in Luc Ngan 4 high school.
