US $50 billion for the Development of the Tonkin Gulf Coastal Economic Belt till 2020 PDF Print E-mail

dulichvietnam.jpgOn March 4th, the Vietnam’s Government Office issued Degree No. 34/2009/QĐ –TTg approving a development plan for the Tonkin Gulf Coastal Economic Belt till 2020.


The Decree lays out the main targets and methods on how to organize the economic belt, directions for the development of economic sectors, and transportation routes and solutions on how to carry out the development plan.

The forecasted needed capital for the plan of US $50 billion will be primarily invested in building infrastructure projects, helping attract investment, setting up economic zones, including the Mong Cai Bilateral Special Economic Zone, building the Lach Huyen, Hai Ha and Van Gia Ports and the Van Don Airport and creating tourist, recreational and other service areas.
