Russia has welcomed
Vietnam’s participation in the global initiative to combat nuclear
terrorism, said the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement on April 30.
The statement said that Vietnam has officially informed the US and Russia of its support and participation in the initiative, which was launched within the framework of the G8 Summit in Saint Petersburg in July 2008.
Russia welcomed Vietnam’s decision and hoped that Vietnam will make considerable contributions to implementing the initiative, said the statement.
Russia also hoped that other countries will join the initiative in the spirit of approving the initiative’s common target and is faithful to the fight against nuclear terrorism./.
