Int’l research firm predicts vigorous growth in tourism sector
Wednesday, 17 March 2010
The Vietnamese
tourism industry will see a two-digit growth thanks to an increase in private
investment in this sector, says RNCOS, a leading global market research and
information analysis company.
The
company reported on March 16 that many private investors have poured large
amounts of money into the tourism industry as the demand for accommodation
surged in the context of various activities in celebration of the coming 1000th
anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Its
report on the Vietnamese tourism industry until 2012 says that the country will
attract many tourists from around the world. MICE
(Meeting-Incentives-Conferences-Exhibitions) services will also soar in the
2010-2013 period.
Also,
the report forecasts a surge in outbound tours alongside the rapid economic
growth of the Vietnamese economy in recent years, with people’s incomes
increasing considerably and a high percentage of young workers in the country’s
population.
RNCOS
remarks that Vietnam
is among the most favoured destinations for tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.
In
2009, it says, tourism accounted for 13.1 percent of the GDP of the Southeast
Asian country and grew at a pace double that of the GDP. RNCOS attributed these
achievements to the government’s assistance, especially in promoting the sector
all over the world.
