The Vietnam National Tourism Administration (VNTA) will coordinate with relevant agencies to promote tourism in Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia from February 28th to March 6th.

Specifically, the campaign will take place in Bangkok (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Singapore’s capital on March 1st, 3rd, and 5th, respectively. This is part of development orientation: “ASEAN – 10 countries, one destination”; with the aim of creating a bridge to cultural values as well raising awareness between the countries.

Accordingly, the campaign will focus on national tourism year 2010 in Hanoi, with various destinations, such as natural wonders, world’s cultural heritages, and trade villages to attract both tourists and investors in the region to Vietnam.

The campaign is expected to draw the participation of more than 100 businesses, tourism management agencies, and airlines of the three countries.

In 2009, the local tourism sector greeted 3.8 million foreign tourists. In January 2010 alone, more than 400,000 foreign tourists visited Vietnam, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last year. And Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia are always major markets to Vietnam’s tourism.

The country targets at 4.2-4.5 million foreign tourists in 2010, with the aim of focusing on close markets in the region.
