Monday, 25 January 2010
The Penn State University (PSU) of the US will transfer textbooks of 24
advanced subjects in its original training programme on business administration
and accounting to the Da Nang-based Duy Tan University (DTU).
Under a cooperative agreement signed between the two universities on January
17, the PSU will help train over 100 lecturers from the DTU so that they can
begin teaching the subjects later this year.
From the 2010-2011 school year, the PSU will send its lecturers to help the DTU
ensure teaching quality. Students who attend the PSU programme at the DTU will
receive from 18 to 24 certificates of finishing PSU subjects and can go on to
study at the PSU.
According to DTU Rector Le Cong Co, besides the full PSU programme, six out of
the 24 PSU subjects will be integrated in the curriculum at the Business
Administration, Accounting and Tourism.
Prof. Dr. Curtis E. Porter, Rector of the PSU, said he hoped this programme
will help improve the image and international prestige of both universities.
Since 2007, the DTU has also cooperated with the US
’s Carnegie Mellon and SeattlePacificUniversities
in training programmes on software technology, information system and advanced
business administration.
