Vietnam to promote tourism on Chinese TV
Monday, 25 January 2010
Tourism products, landscapes, customs,
gastronomic traditions, and traditional music of Vietnam will be introduced on
Chinese central and local TV channels for the first time, said a report from
the Vietnamese government.
A 15-minute film and a 30-second video clip about Vietnam’s tourism will be
aired once each of three straight days on Chinese central TV, and three times a
day for one month on TV channels of Sichuan, Chongqing, and Hubei Provinces,
according to the Travel Department under the Vietnam National Administration of
Tourism.
In late 2009, the Vietnamese tourism sector organized two promotion programs in
the Chinese cities and provinces of Shanghai, Henan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Sichuan, Chongqing and Wuhan.
Vietnam
received nearly 528,000 Chinese visitors in 2009, down 18% against 2008.
