Vietnam always welcomes businesses from
the prefecture of Osaka in Japan to invest in the country,
said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.
On receiving Osaka’s
Governor, Toru Hashimoto, in Hanoi on January
22, President Triet confirmed his ongoing support for more cooperation between Osaka and Ho Chi Minh City
and urged the Japanese prefecture to expand its ties with other cities and
provinces in Vietnam.
The State leader said that Vietnam wishes to step up its comprehensive
cooperation with Japan as
their bilateral relationship has grown fruitfully and Japan has a
huge potential for trade and investment.
Vietnam
applauds the commitments made by the Japanese Prime Minister and government in
promoting the strategic partnership between the two nations, he said.
Hashimoto said that Osaka
attaches importance to fostering cooperative ties with Vietnamese cities and
provinces, and that companies from Osaka
in particular and Japan in general want to strengthen links with their
Vietnamese partners.
Osaka has already
opened a representative office in HCMCity to promote its trade
and investment activities, said the governor.
He informed his host of the outcomes of an
earlier seminar between businesses from Osaka
and HCMCity,
saying that Osaka
is keen to attract Vietnamese businesses, as well as the rest of the country.
The governor added that Japan and Vietnam
’s relationship had been lifted to a strategic partnership and that the
prefecture would like to strengthen ties with localities in Vietnam.
