Tourism products, landscapes, customs, gastronomic traditions, and traditional music of Việt Nam will be introduced on Chinese central and local TV channels for the first time. A 15-minute film and a 30-second video clip about Việt Nam’s tourism will be aired once each of three straight days on Chinese central TV, and three times a day for one month on TV channels of Sichuan, Chongqing, and Hubei Provinces, according to the Travel Department under the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism.In late 2009, the Vietnamese tourism sector organized two promotion programs in the Chinese cities and provinces of Shanghai, Henan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Sichuan, Chongqing and Wuhan.

Việt Nam received nearly 528,000 Chinese visitors in 2009, down 18% against 2008.
