Hanoi plans to let off fireworks at 23 sites at Tet

Hanoi authorities
want to host firework displays at 23 sites in the lunar New Year Eve, including
five sites with high-range fireworks and 18 with low-range fireworks.
Fireworks are
planned for shooting from 0-0.15am of February 14 at the Hoan Kiem Lake (Hoan
Kiem district), Ly Tu Trong flower garden (Tay Ho district), Thong Nhat park
(Hai Ba Trung district), Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong district), Ngoc Khanh lake (Ba
Dinh district), Den Lu Park (Hoang Mai district), Long Bien flower garden (Long
Bien district), My Dinh Stadium (Tu Liem district), Dong Anh district stadium,
Soc Son district stadium, Hai Ba Trung Temple (Me Linh district), Tay Dang
stadium (Ba Vi district), Son Tay town, Xuan Mai town (Chuong My district),
Cultural House of Thuong Tin district, Dai Nghia town (My Duc district), Gia
Lam district stadium, Women Monument (Dan Phuong district), Thach That district
stadium, Quoc Oai district stadium, Ung Hoa district stadium and the People’s
Committee of Phu Xuyen district.
According to the Hanoi People’s Committee, the number of venues for fireworks
this Tet will be 7 more than last Tet. Total funding for fireworks is around 5
billion dong.
The chief of the office of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Thinh Thanh told
Tuoi Tre that Hanoi
would have to report the plan to the Prime Minister for approval .
