Participants at the meeting with ethnic boarding schools discussed measures to improve educational quality, management and implementation of policies in ethnic boarding schools.

They also gave ideas took out words to consolidate and develop the system of ethnic boarding schools through 2015.

The Ministry of Education and Training took out has held a meeting with ethnic boarding schools during the 2009-2010 school year in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son. The meeting drew leaders from the departments of education and training in 49 provinces and cities that have ethnic boarding schools nationwide. Participants listened to reports on key tasks of ethnic boarding schools for the 2009-2010 school year.

In the 2008-2009 school year, there were 284 ethnic boarding schools in 49 provinces and cities nationwide with 84677 students from secondary and high schools.
