FPC-AJE Programmes 101 East crew has been in Vietnam for approximately two weeks in September to film a feature current affairs story regarding the continuing damage caused to Vietnam by the use of Agent Orange by US forces.
During the production shoot, AJE interviewed people who have been affected by Agent Orange, visited some of the worse areas for damage occurred, and spoke to people who are continuing to fight for recognition from the US and the chemical producers of Agent Orange of the damage that this poison has caused to generations of Vietnamese people.
After the shooting, AJE came to conclusion that today, the effects of Agent Orange still lives on, as children continue to be born across Vietnam with genetic defects and traces of the dioxin are found in soil, people and food.
On September 10, 2009 the edition of 101 East discusses the legacy of Agent Orange and asks if enough is being done for the victims of the defoliant used by the US military in the Vietnam war.
