Vietnam,
the world's second-biggest rice exporter, said Wednesday it needs help to
safeguard the world's food supply from the consequences of global warming.
Many scientists warned that if the United Nation's
Climate Change Conferece in Copehagen, Denmark does not take strong action on global
warming, the Vietnam's
largest delta in the MekongRiver basin will face
extreme consequences.

VGP - Climate change is one of the biggest
challenges to mankind in the 21st century. The escalation in both frequency and
severity of natural disasters and other extreme climate phenomena is the talk
of the day in many countries around the world. Responding to climate change
requires not only efforts from individual countries, but also the joint actions
on the global scale for both mitigation and adaptation.
Vietnam will continue to participate in projects of the UN
Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest
Degradation (UN-REDD), said a senior official.

climate change at the current conference in Copenhagen, said a senior official.
