Up to 900 overseas
Vietnamese from 101 countries and territories will participate in Vietnam’s first
Overseas Vietnamese Conference from November 21-31, deputy head of the State
Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Tran Trong Toan told reporters on November
10.
Ho Chi Minh City authorities have asked the local transport department,
taxi associations and related agencies to propose solutions to reorganize the
local taxi industry, including restricting the number of cars.
Thirteen sleeping farmers and migrant
workers were killed late Thursday after landslides crushed their tents in the
mountainous district of Bac Tra My in central Quang Nam province.
The famous Hai Van Tunnel in central Vietnam is at high risk for fires
and explosions due to increasing violations by passing vehicles, says the
company managing the tunnel.
