Many educators have expressed their concern about the feasibility of the plan to universalize preschool education for 5-year-old children, saying that it would be even more difficult to universalize pre-school than primary education.

A lot of excellent students scramble for seats in classes for  mathematics majors at high schools.  Many win medals at International Mathematics Olympiads and national competitions. However, very few would consider earning a college degree in mathematics.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan told the online paper Dan Tri that if Vietnam establishes a ‘new model’ higher mathematics institute, Fields Medalist Dr. Ngo Bao Chau may be its first director.
